The Nautical Academy of Nigeria is the most prominent maritime university in the country. The center is located in Oron, Akwa Ibom state, in the coastal region of the country.
The institute oversees the training of workers at all levels to work on ships, ports, marine engineering workshops, pilots, ships, and other industries related to the sea.
Oron Maritime Research Institute is on the International Maritime Organization’s white list of countries that have implemented the STCW Convention 1978, as amended in 2010.

The Matral Maritime Training Center which started its operations in 2012, was accredited by the Nigerian Maritime Safety and Security Agency (NIMASA).
5. Coastal Maritime Academy
The Coastal Nautical Academy in Ikoyi, Lagos is a well-known nautical school. This College was established in 2008 through a private initiative. The school’s mission is to provide quality maritime education and training to naval vessels and related industries on a regular basis.
Coastal Maritime Academy has been licensed by the Nigerian Maritime Administration. 9. Federal College Of Fisheries And Marine Technology
The Federal College of Fisheries and Aquatic Technology (FCFMT) is a premier university established by the government to meet the needs of the agricultural, fishing and marine industries in Nigeria.
